Reset Follow-Up

Alright so the reset has been completed, and the staff team figured it would be good to review a few things.

  1. There are two worlds, Earth and Minecraft. Each one has a nether. The earth nether is claimable and does not reset, except we will reset it when we update to 1.16 to allow for 1.16-themed builds. The minecraft nether will reset monthly and not be claimable. There is only one end. It is much smaller than the previous end, but it will also reset. Overall availability of special end items like elytras should increase but not excessively.
  2. The server shop has changed significantly, and will continue to change over the next few weeks. A conclusive list of every change will not be published due to the extent of the changes.
  3. The world, nether and end are now available for download on our past world page (https://urbanmc.net/pages/worlds/).
  4. On Monday next week (July 13), gold will be once again available to purchase.
  5. The weekend after, an auction will be scheduled and held in discord and in game for the first four playershop plots. Which plots will be available has not yet been determined.
  6. We are aware of some issues with vote points. If you are experiencing problems, please let us know with as much detail as possible.
  7. There was an issue last night with portals. Any homes obtained illegitimately due to the issue with portals have been removed.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone for their patience and co-operation through this past week. It has been very stressful for many of us staff members and we're glad it went fairly smoothly last night. We look forward to the amazing things you will all accomplish this world.

We're currently in the process of testing out 1.16 on the test server and making sure everything works. There have been issues with some plugins, so it might take some time to smooth those out, and make sure everything is acting functional.

On top of that 1.16 itself has proven not to be the most stable update. There's currently some vanilla issues with world conversion from past worlds, so we're waiting concurrently in hopes that those issues will be fixed, so there's no data loss from upgrading the world.

There's also some other bugs and things that are being fixed from the reset itself which require time. Probably the most hindering thing itself is just that all the admins have other commitments as well, so on top of those, the process is just a bit slow.

Nonetheless, we're pretty excited about the 1.16 update, just as we know the rest of you are, and we really appreciate everyone's patience while we make sure that we can update as smoothly as possible.
